RATE PLAN QUALIFICATION CRITERIA

Here at InnovaTAX, we have rate plans that are specially designed to recognize:

i)    our clients who work in occupations that make Canada a safe and better place to live;
ii)   hardship that many of our clients face; and
iii)  contributions made by our clients who are now retired or are senior citizens.

General
 
It seems that money come in one hand and right out of the other.  We have designed this cost-effective rate plan for those who do not fit into any of the others.

Uniform
 
Many people risk their lives in service to Canada and to help others.  This rate plan recognizes the contribution of uniformed members of the Canadian Armed Forces, police, customs, conservation, corrections, fire and ambulance services.

Uniform Spouse
 
Spouses of those who serve in uniform should also be recognized for keeping the homefires burning and supporting the career choice of the uniformed member.
 
Retiree
 
After working and contributing to society for countless years, you have earned your retirement.  We have a special rate plan just for you.

Senior
You have made your mark on Canadian society and have deserve respect for the contributions you have made.  For that reason, we have a plan just for you.
 
Student
Being a student means many hours of studying and living on a limited budget.  We want to recognize all those who are making an effort to better their lives so they may make a contribution to Canadian society.

UniformRate Plan Qualification Criteria & Required Documentation

This rate plan is extensive and covers uniformed members of the military, and police, border, conservation, corrections, fire protection and ambulance services across Canada.  Due to the extent of this plan, qualification criteria is specified by the type of service listed above.  Please select from the list below for more details.

UniformCANADIAN ARMED FORCES (CAF)

Qualification Criteria:

In order to be eligible for the Uniform rate plan as a CAF member, you must qualify as per below:
• Regular Force (Reg F) - Serving1 or on maternity or paternity leave, released medically or voluntarily after 20 years' service, or retired2;

• Primary Reserve (P Res) - Serving1 Class A, B or C, released medically or voluntarily after 20 years' service, or retired2;
Cadet Organizations Administration and Training Service (COATS) - Serving1 Class A or B, released medically or voluntarily after 20 years' service, or retired2;
• Canadian Rangers (CdnRgrs) - Serving1 Class A or B, released medically or voluntarily after 20 years' service, or retired2; or
• Supplementary Reserve (SupRes) - Attached to another reserve subcomponent and serving1 Class A or B, released medically or voluntarily after 20 years' service, or retired2.


Notes:

1.   Serving members only qualify if, at time of filing, they are
not:
      a) on leave without pay (LWOP);
      b) on non-effective strength (NES);
      c) on exempt drill and training (ED&T);
      d) undergoing a summary trial or court-martial; or
      e) serving a period of detention.

2.   Retired means that a member is released outright from the CAF and is in receipt of a military pension, either CFSA Part I (Regular Force/full-time pension) or Part I.1 (Reserve Force/part-time pension).

UniformROYAL CANADIAN MOUNTED POLICE (RCMP)

Qualification Criteria:

In order to be eligible for the Uniform rate plan as a RCMP member, you must qualify as per below:

• Regular members - Serving1, released medically or voluntarily after 20 years' service, or retired2
.

Notes:

1.   Serving members only qualify if, at time of filing, they are not:
      a) on unpaid leave;
      b) on suspension;
      c) undergoing internal disciplinary or criminal court proceedings; or
      d) serving a period of detention.

2.   Retired means that a member is released outright from the RCMP and is in receipt of a RCMPSA pension.

UniformONTARIO PROVINCIAL POLICE (OPP)

Qualification Criteria::

In order to be eligible for the Uniform rate plan as an OPP member, you must qualify as per below:
• Regular members - Serving1, released medically or voluntarily after 20 years' service, or retired2; or
• Special constable - Serving1, released medically or voluntarily after 20 years' service, or retired2.

Notes:
1.   Serving members only qualify if, at time of filing, they are not:
      a) on unpaid leave;
      b) on suspension;
      c) undergoing internal disciplinary or criminal court proceedings; or
      d) serving a period of detention.

2.   Retired means that a member is released outright from the OPP and is in receipt of a PSPP pension.

• Customs officer - Serving1, released medically or voluntarily after 20 years' service, or retired2.

Notes:
1.  Serving members only qualify if, at time of filing, they are not:
       a) on unpaid leave;
       b) on suspension;
       c) undergoing internal disciplinary or criminal court proceedings; or
       d) serving a period of detention.

2.  Retired means that a member is released outright from the CBSA and is in receipt of a PSSA pension.

       d) serving a period of detention.

Uniform Spouse Rate PlanRate Plan Qualification Criteria & Required Documentation

Qualification Criteria:


In order to qualify for this rate plan, you must be:
•  married or in a recognized common-law relationship and not separated, except for service reasons, to an InnovaTAX client who qualifies under the
Uniform rate plan.

Required Documentation:


Marriage licence or proof of common-law status
Social insurance number card
• Birth certificate
One piece of photo identification other than an Ontario Health Card

Retiree Rate PlanRate Plan Qualification Criteria & Required Documentation

Qualification Criteria:


In order to qualify for this rate plan, the client must:
• be in receipt of payments from a registered pension plan (RPP) based on at least 20 years' service, during the tax year being filed and must be at least 50 years of age;
• be in receipt of payments from a RPP due to medical reasons, which is based on a minimum of 10 years' service, during the tax year being filed;
• be in receipt of payments from a registered retirement income fund (RRIF), pooled registered pension plan (PRPP) or other similar fund, and be at least 50 of age; or
• be in receipt of retirement benefits from the Canada Pension Plan (CPP) and be at least 60 years of age.

Required Documentation:


Verification of pension or other such fund
Social insurance number card
• Birth certificate
One piece of photo identification other than an Ontario Health Card

Senior Rate PlanRate Plan Qualification Criteria & Required Documentation

Qualification Criteria:


In order to qualify for this rate plan, the client must, by the date of filing:
be at least 65 years of age and be in receipt of Canada Pension Plan or Quebec Pension Plan retirement benefits.

Required Documentation:


• Retiree card
Social insurance number card
• Birth certificate
One piece of photo identification other than an Ontario Health Card

Student Rate PlanRate Plan Qualification Criteria & Required Documentation

Qualification Criteria:


In order to qualify for this rate plan, the client must be:
Enrolled at a recognized secondary school on a full-time basis at least four months of the tax year being filed; or
enrolled in a recognized public or private college or university on a full-time basis, for at least four months of the tax year being filed.

Required Documentation:


Valid student card from the institution
• Confirmation of enrollment for the current and previous semester
Social insurance number card
• Birth certificate
One piece of photo identification other than an Ontario Health Card
